KUROGAKI wood is a precious material in Japanese craftmanship that embodies the wonder of nature and refers to persimmon wood that exhibits black ink-like patterns; being unique, it’s only found in ancient trees that are over a century old and, as the drying process requires extensive knowledge and expertise, it’s something that is revered across Japan. Throughout history, the material has been admired by nobles and literati thanks to its mysterious and Zen-like patterns–and the cause of these is still a mystery. The ATH-AWKG’s lacquer finish, applied by hand, brings out the natural beauty of the wood’s grain, and it’s a beauty that will only deepen with age.
Expect stitched ergonomic earpads and headbands that are crafted from smooth, highly durable sheepskin for long-lasting comfort, along with a magnesium alloy headphone arm that has been angled to offer the ideal fit.
