Oceanco unveils its sleek, new Silver Ocean Superyacht by Enrico Gobbi

Oceanco’s introduction of the new Silver Ocean superyacht marks the latest in its Simply Custom series, featuring 17 vessels each conceptualized by different designers. The Silver Ocean’s sleek, dynamic lines and distinctive profile were born from the mind of Venice-based Enrico Gobbi and his crew at Team for Design. This 80-meter luxury liner represents a confluence of aesthetic inspiration drawn from aviation, automotive design, and the influential architecture, art, and waterways of Gobbi’s beloved city.

“For me, what’s at the heart of a beautiful, winning design are the fundamental proportions, which are instantly recognizable,” explained Gobbi in a recent interview. “So our first considerations for a yacht design are not details, nor layouts, but the proportions, the volume, the idea.”

The design philosophy aimed to give Silver Ocean an impression of motion even when stationary – or an “elusive” look, as described by the Italian studio. Distinctive overhangs and light slits along the exterior succeed in giving the yacht a unique visual signature, even when anchored.

Expansive outdoor spaces are prioritized, highlighted by large aft decks with clear panoramic ocean views, unobstructed by structural elements. A notable addition is the main deck infinity pool, bordered by a glass bulwark to enhance the illusion of swimming within the ocean. The yacht also includes a beach club divided into a jacuzzi area, lounge space, and a gym, to cater to a broad range of on-board recreational activities that will suit any guest staying in the ship’s six guest cabins. The owner’s suite offers additional luxury, with a private terrace, pool, and a direct route to the helipad, blending opulence with practicality for the jet-set. Gobbi’s holistic view toward design ensures that every aspect of Silver Ocean contributes to an overall aesthetic of timeless beauty and functional elegance.

The Simply Custom series is a response by Oceanco to the market demand for more tailored, specialized yacht designs that can still be built efficiently. Other studios employed in the series to date include Espen Øino, H2 Yacht Design, Hot Lab, and Nuvolari Lenard, with more concepts expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks. The Simply Custom approach aims to simplify the yacht construction experience, allowing for customization without necessitating the owner’s involvement in every detail. Oceanco’s collaboration with numerous design studios for this series ensures a wide range of options, catering to diverse tastes and lifestyles. The technical foundation of Simply Custom yachts, developed in partnership with Lateral Naval Architects, provides a proven basis upon which additional elements can be added, encompassing lifestyle needs such as wellness areas, cinemas, and enhanced sustainability features.
