Huayra R Evo is an Exquisite Track-Only Masterpiece

Pagani is known for its artistry and a lot of the design that goes into a new Pagani is unlike any other hypercar out there. Pagani does things differently while being about form and function in equal measure. Its new open-top hypercar for the track though is quite possibly its most extreme expression of the values that Pagani upholds. The long-tail design surely stands out with a clear inspiration from Le Mans racing cars from yesteryears. Meant to be a track-only toy ‘Arte in Pista’, for Pagani Track Hypercar owners, the long tail is not just merely about design as aerodynamics also played a large part in it. Of course, with the Huayra R Evo, they decided to take off the roof as well with the revised V12 providing a sensory experience. The Huayra R Evo has as much as 45 percent more downforce than before which when combined with the more potent V12 makes this one of the most powerful track-oriented hypercars.

That said, the sheer length of this racer hits you with a modified front and rear styling. The louvers on the bonnet to the smooth flowing lines are very much reminiscent of the older racing cars and not the brutal aesthetics of some of the modern ones. Even the powertrain has not been spared as the V12 R-Evo engine now produces stratospheric 900hp and it can hit a top speed of 218 mph on the track. The six-speed sequential gearbox has been tweaked along with the dynamic’s qualities while no doubt the longer tail will make it a slick racer with tires just for the track. Rather interestingly, the open roof enhances aerodynamic efficiency, contrary to expectations as the open-top configuration increases both front and rear vertical load, boosting the total downforce by an additional 5 percent.

Meanwhile, The interiors are race-ready with six-point harnesses, seats covered in fireproof material, and special Ener-Core EC 50 foam padding. Like bespoke race cars, the seats are adapted to the driver’s and passenger’s body shape, while the carbon fiber headrests are also fitted with dedicated lateral protection. Pagani has not revealed the price or the number of units that it will build but we guess it is several million again for its clientele, it does not matter. With these track hypercars, manufacturers uncork their full potential since they are not bound by regulations to be road-worthy and that also means the extreme design direction that these otherworldly creations take. Hence, it is no surprise that exclusive track-oriented hypercars are even more popular than ever with the wealthiest enthusiasts in the world.
